More than 5,000 students have graduated from Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial University in 2025 across various programmes, marking a major milestone for the institution.
Speaking during the 20th graduation ceremony at the University’s Kivukoni Campus in Dar es Salaam, Rector Professor Haruna Mapesa announced that a total of 5,255 graduates received awards ranging from basic certificates and technical certificates to ordinary diplomas, bachelor’s degrees and postgraduate qualifications.
Professor Mapesa highlighted the growing participation of women in higher learning, noting that 2,410 of the graduates were women, while 2,845 were men. He further revealed an upward trend in student enrolment, with 12,167 students registered this academic year, compared to 11,576 in 2023/2024.
